About the Item
DESK AND CHAIR BY SUE ET MARE
A French Art Deco ladies writing desk and chair of exceptional quality by Louis Sue and Andre Mare produced around 1925, it is solid walnut with octagonal legs with ornate carving to the top, the sides are scalloped with reeded detail, it has a single drawer to the front that has hand cut dovetail joints with oak sides and solid cedar drawer liner, the chair is solid walnut with shaped delicate form having a silver gilt carved panel in the back with a scalloped top, the desk has been restored where necessary and fully polished by hand and the chair is in its original polish and has been cleaned and waxed, the seat has been fully upholstered and covered in Jean Paul Gautier fabric to match the carved panel , the top covering can easily be changed if not to your taste but I think it sits well.
