About the Item

Beech Roseaux console table by Alexandre Labruyère Current Production Dimensions: W 150 x D 30 x H 80 cm Materials: Sycamore, beech, hatural oil protection. All furniture is made to order and made to measure. In line with its natural inspirations, all raw materials come from the Hauts de France and are used in a reasoned approach. Oak, ash, sycamore, red oak are carefully selected directly to the saw mill. “As you wander through the marshes, you let yourself be carried by the movement of the reeds and their luminous softness.” Like a curtain of reeds, the rhythm created by the beech stems lets the light filter through and softens the rhythmic surface.This collection explores the visual sensations created by the reeds as the light passes through. The alternation of full and empty, the shifts in height, everything is thought and shaped to remind us of these landscapes. The color of the used wood allows to play contrasts between the clear and the dark, in order to better shed light up on the elements of the furniture. This variation around the console shows the slender line that recalls the stem of the reeds. The piece of furniture is open and reveals the shelves which compose it, the curtain opens. Alexandre Labruyère is a designer of contemporary furniture and decorative objects. A jack of all trades, he is passionate about his job as a product designer, and has used each of his professional experiences to discover new facets of his work. He is inspired by his many travels and encounters to imagine, design and manufacture furniture and decorative objects. Initially trained in industrial design, he has explored many fields of object design (transportation, art direction, luggage, etc.) this has enabled him to expand his taste for materials, and his skills in using them. After several years in a large industrial sports company, he trained in 2019 at the Ecole Boulle in Paris, to become a cabinetmaker. This training allows him today to approach many materials with techniques related to this art, giving life to his ideas and concepts.
