Circa Late 17th Century Carved Oak Lectern in Original Condition
About the Item
A rare and intricately carved Oak Lectern in original condition. In a very dark black-brown stain. The separately made top with a slant front opening to compartments and with a carved arcade form back splash. The apron on the front and sides with matching carved arcades. Shaped sides between square and turned legs with a turned front stretcher and square side and back ones. The upper section removes from the base.
H. 43 3/4", W. 25 1/2", Depth 18"
Condition: Please see detail photos. There are expected signs of wear including wear to the slant front, stable age crack inside, lacking key, worn front stretcher, stable age crack to the upper right front leg, some old time-softened gouges on the stretchers, all mentioned for accuracy as the presentation is authentic and captivating.
