Table #2. Manufactured by Jonas Lutz. Exclusively for SIDE. Netherlands, 2023. Natural Elm wood. Measurements 73 x 35 x 41h cm 28,7 x 13,8 x 16,1h in Provenance Rotterdam, Netherlands. Exhibitions Casavells 2023. Concept For the past five years Jonas Lutz has been creating wooden furniture objects for the fashion industry using whole logs of fresh Elm wood. During this phase the designer saved larger off-cuts and leftover wood from the production, and it is this material that has been the starting point for his new collection. Using the raw pieces of wood as building blocks to create objects, the Finnish-born designer stacked and composed the pieces before shaping them with a chainsaw and sander. This process allows Lutz to preserve a sense of playfulness in his work which he constantly seeks.
