Fine George III Mahogany Spider Leg Table

About the Item

With a rectangular top and hinged drop-leaf, contains a frieze drawer, turned circular legs and wonderfully turned and shaped stretchers. Turned feet. The stretcher configuration allowed the user to place their feet under the table to use as a desk. A very similar example pictured in "The Dictionary Of English Furniture", Ralph Edwards, revised edition, vol three. Figure 26. In the collection of The Vyne, Hampshire.
