Andrew Szoeke
Born in 1893, Andrew Szoeke was an American artist and furniture maker best known for his mid-century style designs. Szoeke, who was admired in his day as one of the great graphic artists of America, put his mastery of form and silhouette to work in furniture, type design, graphic design and fine arts. His artisanry reached its peak in his elaborate furniture and decorative objects, which featured his tour de force wood inlay, as here.

Richard Newman studied with Wendell Castle and Jere Osgood at The School of the American Craftsman at RIT in the mid-1960s. After graduating from RIT Newman began a 40 year career as one of America's preeminent craftsman.
