Tiger Striped Maple Table

About the Item

Tiger striped maple table by Stuart Welch Curly Maple, Claro Walnut details 29.5?H x 31.5?W About the artist: People often ask where do I get my ideas? Early on I was fortunate to be exposed to wonderful teachers. Wendell Castle, James Krenov, Jerry Osgood and Art Carpenter, who all encouraged thinking outside the box. My education opened the doors to all aspects of my trade. I’ve worked implementing new designs for large factories, teaching, designing and building large scale factories overseas. I have designed lines of furniture for factory production, produced commissions and created Art Furniture that pushed the boundaries for gallery presentation. Today, I relish opening the door every morning to my own studio workshop. I enjoy producing work that challenges me and people’s conventional ideas of furniture. Making objects that others want to touch, question and use is very satisfying, and it is most gratifying creating furniture that makes people smile.
