Trio side table by Nendo. Materials: top: noce canaletto solid wood, glass or metal. Structure: black chrome metal, black/Light grey /coral / dark Green powder-coated metal. Dimensions: W 84.7 x D 76.3 x H 33.9 cm. Customization are available. At first sight, Trio is a side table that consists of three transparent bowls overlapping one another. The opening of each bowl is covered with either a glass, metal or wood top. The shape of the bowl is suggested by a single curved line — seemingly a spectacular feat of balance, yet the result is surprisingly stable, with each shape secured to the others in two different points. This single-leg structure supports several table tops, contrasting with more traditional table designs. Oki Sato was born in 1977 in Toronto, Canada. Received M.Arch. from Waseda University, Tokyo in 2002. Established design studio “Nendo” in the same year. Activity in the design world has not been limited to any one area but is rather multifarious, spanning from graphic and product design to designing furniture, installations, windows, and interiors, and even reaches into the realm of architecture. Chosen by Newsweek magazine as one of “The 100 Most Respected Japanese” and won many “Designer of the Year” of major awards include from Wallpaper* magazine and ELLE Decoration magazine. Nendo designs can be found in the Museum of Modern Art in New York, as well as Musee des Arts décoratifs and Centre Pompidou in Paris. Among his many collaborations: Cappellini, Moroso, DePadova, Puma and Flos.
