Antique English Paper Mache Tray Table with Faux Bamboo Legs & Floral Decoration
About the Item
This antique tray table is unsigned, but presumed to have originated from England and date to approximately 1880 and done in a period Victorian style. The antique tray itself is composed of paper mache with ornate gilt floral decoration and a glossy black lacquer finish. The stand which dates to approximately the 1960's is composed of a softwood done in a faux bamboo and also with a black lacquered finish. The tray is in very good period condition, and the stand is sturdy but has been repaired as presented.

- Condition:Repaired: Each of the legs has been drilled and screwed down at some time as presented in the photos. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Some light surface wear to the top of the tray and some paint loss to the edges of the top surround as presented in the photos, and consistent with age and use.
