Tommaso Barbi Wicker and Chrome Folding Table Barware Tray, 1970s

About the Item

Tommaso Barbi designed this elegant large barware folding tray table in Italy in the 1970s. The rectangular butler shape boasts a chromed metal raised gallery and genuine rattan cane-work or wicker. The table has a chrome metal folding X-stand. The piece is marked on the underside with the original Tommaso Barbi sticker logo and Made in Italy. This piece is perfect for any modern interior or entertainment use, cocktail, or barware party serving. The tray table is in good condition, with minor wear on the metal and a small dark stain on the wicker, but they do not significantly affect the overall appearance. There are tiny scratches on the underside of the tray due to contact with the metal base. We have added suede pads on the metal base to avoid more scratches. Measurements: Overall: 27.56 in wide (70 cm) x 19.69 in deep (50 cm) x 18.50 in high (47 cm). The tray is 27.56 in wide (70 cm) x 19.69 in deep (50 cm) x 2.36 in high (6 cm). Note: Other decorative items or furniture are not included in the sale.

This beautiful chrome, brass, burl wood, and lucite backgammon table is an absolute show stopper! Designed in Italy by Tomasso Barbi, this is a great piece to have for entertainment. The table top and game board are burlwood, the "pips" are chrome and brass inlay. The cups and number square are also burl wood. The lucite top rests perfectly and the legs are chrome plated. 6 die come with the table. A truly unique table that is a rare example having retained its original removable lucite top giving the table the added function of not only backgammon but to be used as a regular table as well. There is the remnant of a Tomasso Barbi on the underside of one of the die cups...
