About the Item

Within the mid-century design genre, the vanity can be called a classic possessing a strong romantic image. They have often adorned the halls or rooms of opulent palazzos and other buildings that appeal to the imagination. This specific vanity is of high quality and made in a traditional manner with a ditto finish. Design Let's start where elegance begins and that is with the foot. The part that contacts the surface is actually a rectangular piece. From there the leg sprouts, with a wood carving on the front, which gradually becomes wider as it moves upwards and then supports the chest of drawers. Exquisite walnut wood shows a stylish drawing and an almost gold-colored patina.Positioned between the base and the mirror is the console part. The round ribs is a typical classic Italian type of woodworking called grissinatura, that is often seen in furniture more or less until the fifties. Designer Paolo Buffa would incorporate the use of this specific decoration frequently in his works. The nice thing here is that the two drawers blend in with the facade and two refined round knobs. When we open the drawers, it is immediately noticeable that they have been made with the greatest care. A detail, for example, is the dovetail joint on the sides of the drawers. The top of the console has a glass inlay. The mirror completes it all and is also of high quality. A sleek frame protrudes slightly at an angle, making the mirror appear to be recessed deeper. In addition, the mirror is finished with a faceted edge. Together with the frame, these subtle techniques add drama so that this item cannot help but stand out. Condition This vanity has been well preserved and has acquired a beautiful patina over the years. The right knob of the drawer has been broken and has already been restored in the past. Furthermore, the vanity has traces of use, but these have been preserved to a minimum.
