Wonderful Mid-Century Modern silkscreen wall scroll titled Chanticleer by Robert R. Bushong for Tom Tru and distributed by Raymor. It is in fantastic vintage condition and circa 1959. I’ve recently become attracted to roosters and chickens in general, and these regal characters are really great! This wall-hanging is depicted in the Tom Tru Spring wall scroll catalog for 1959. Attributed to Robert R. Bushong, although the signature on this one is missing the G. Since the signature is so close to the edge we believe the G just did not make it into the screen printing process. This example is what was advertised in the catalog as: powder, royal, sage, brown on black texture. Otherwise known as powder blue, royal blue, sage green, and brown. Its solid walnut top and bottom mouldings are just beautiful as are these fantastic chanticleer, the name for roosters especially in fairy tales. Robert Bushong...

Incredible impressionist style painting on hardboard of children on horseback signed Brooks Woollcott (now Powell). It is in good original condition with its original black painted wood frame. We have stabilized the frame and added a new coat of paint, circa 1940-1960s. This original impressionistic painting has the most extraordinary color pallet from pink to coral, turquoise to blue, green to chartreuse, and bright yellow with touches of black. Fantastic mixed media painting by Contemporary French Artist Richard Texier. A combination of watercolor, ink and collage on paper this work was is called Marges. Signed upper right corner and dated. This painting was once part of GE's corporate art collection. Colors may vary slightly. Image size is 13 inches high by 8.50 inches wide. Today Texier is regarded as one of the best living artists of his generation. He began painting at a young age and his keen interest in the history of astronomy is largely inspired by the creation of his own personnel cosmography. Known for both his paintings and sculptures he has installations throughout the world. His works are to be found in numerous important public and private collections, both in France and abroad. Since November 6, 2015, his red bronze sculpture: Angel Bear, more than 7 meters in height which portrays a bear with wings, is placed on the Gare du Nord square in Paris. It evokes the downward spiral of polar bears due to global warming, one of his favorite themes.
