1960s, Brutalist Copper Elephant Wall Sculpture, Signed Rhoda Howard

About the Item

A truly unique - and powerful - Brutalist wall sculpture constructed from found pieces of sheet copper and other copper elements, made by American sculptor Rhoda Howard in the 1960s. She cut, bended and twisted the metal into shapes corresponding to the elephant’s head, then soldered them together over a metal rod infrastructure. It’s Brutalist, it’s folk art, it’s presence is felt…and it’s great. Untouched. Original plywood plaque with signature included.
