American Silk Embroidery of a Shepherdess and Windmill, c.1800
About the Item
Three other young ladies dance in a small circle and a young man is seated under a tree. A stream with ducks winds its way through the scene. A small windmill and a little cottage were needleworked, as well. It was executed in silk on silk with watercolor for the heads, faces and arms. It has been conservation mounted and remains in its fine original gold leaf frame.
