Beautiful, Hand-Colored, Rare Copper Engraving of 3 Ducks and An Avocet (1792).

About the Item

An authentic, perfect and bright, originally hand-colored, illustration of 3 Ducks and an Avocet, on parchment paper (copper engraving). It has a fine shining because of the authenticly applied egg-yolk as varnish. The Artist is Robert Bernard (1792). The illustration is plate number 41 from ''Encyclopédie méthodique: Histoire Naturelle, Ornithologie', by Panckoucke (Paris), after the famous Encyclopédie by Diderot and d'Alembert.

    Wear consistent with age and use. Outside on the margins are a few small dark stains. Lower right corner of the paper has a small cut/ missing corner. No impact on the image with the margin.
