About the Item
A striking pair of antique Chinese donkey blinders. Often confused with an item of women's apparel, these are in fact beautifully handwoven and hand-stitched pieces used to cover a donkey's eyes to prevent dizziness while walking in circles. Rarely seen, these make great wall hangings and conversation pieces. From Shanxi Province, circa 1900.
