About the Item
Elegant hand-watercoloured print representing two South American Macaws Ara Chloraptera in blue nuance. Image reproduced from the famous illustrations by Axel Amuchastegui.
Printed manually on 100% cotton engraving paper in Florence Italy.
Each print is entirely painted by hand with water colors and tempera in red tones.
Matted in dark sage green with back hand detailing.
Axel Amuchastegui is one of the best wildlife illustrators of the last 100 years. Axel was was born in 1921 in Cordoba, Argentina, and was a self taught artist. He loved the beauty of the natural environment in which he grew up. Axel developed a unique technique for his paintings using Chinese inks and watercolors.
With an experience of over 40 years, Artecornici design creates high-quality handmade frames using precious woods and working various types of high-quality finishes, lacquers and ageing, offering a vast choice of models.
Each print is an artisanal Florentine product, reproducing images of the European 18th and 19th centuries with the same printing techniques (engraving with a star press), the golden age of prints, which are then finished and watercolored exclusively by hand
