About the Item

Beautiful reproduction of a typical English landscape depicting men fishing. The original was made by Geroge Earl, a famous English painter and illustrator. Bottom right is the author's signature 'Geo Earl'. All the prints are completely hand-coloured by our skilled craftsmen in Florence, Italy. Printed manually on 100% cotton engraving paper in Florence Italy. Each print is entirely painted by hand with water colors and tempera. It is a furnishing accessory that enhances the environment and adapts to many decorative styles. George Earl (1824–1908) was a painter, primarily of sporting dogs and other animals. He was also the father of Maud Earl and Percy Earl, and the brother of Thomas Earl, all three of whom were also animal artists. Earl was a keen sportsman[1] and this is reflected in his work and reputation as a dog painter. He was also an early member of The Kennel Club. Although chiefly remembered as a canine artist due to his success depicting them, of the nineteen paintings Earl exhibited at the Royal Academy (RA) between 1857 and 1883 only a minority was of dogs.[2] Artecornici design produces hand colored art prints, artisan frames, lightings, decorative accessories and furniture.
