Mid-Century Blue & Brass Mixed Media Painting, Signed Lou Tiew, 1979 Netherlands
About the Item
This exceptional large modernist painting features a natural brass and fiberglass surface on board and is framed with brass flat bar stock. A central organic figure in dark purples and deep brown hues contain varying brutalist impasto fiberglass shapes, textures and techniques. An expressionistic oil painted ground in vibrant blue, lime green and black radiates from the central motif. Signed in lower right corner "L. '79 and 157x125, Lou Tiew '79" on back. Condition commensurate with age, minor paint loss.
