A wonderful mid-20th century Kuba Shoowa flat-weave multi-colored embroidered raffia cloth panel with a fantastic all-over geometric motif. Sometimes multiple panels are stitched together to create long dance skirts worn by men during various ceremonies. This example is unique because of the flat weave construction and the bold modernist colors.
