About the Item
An exceptional and very high quality pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. Belle Époque period giltwood and patinated bronze decorative wall plaques. Each impressive plaque is framed within their original giltwood frame with elegant mottled designs. The plaque to the left depicts a beautiful winged maiden dressed in a wonderfully executed flowing garment with the sun behind her amidst blooming flowers with a winged cherub at her feet holding the eternal flame. The plaque to the right depicts another beautiful maiden also draped in fine flowing attire with stars behind her holding a branch with budded flowers also displaying a winged cherub at her feet holding a branch.
