Antique French Belle Epoque Figurative Hand-Painted Engravings - Set of 3

About the Item

Three stunning and rare hand-painted French engravings depict Parisian couture at the height of the Belle Epoque and Art Nouveau Movement (1880-1914). Each composition also gives the viewer a glimpse at high-Parisian culture and lifestyle just before the onset of WWI. Produced in France in 1913 and 1914, from a copper-plate engraving, each original piece pictured here was part of a larger folio printed on paper that represented the work of several French engravers. Each is signed: MFN, V.L. Huer, and BMB. The copy at the bottom of the engravings describes the type of clothing, color and materials. Hand-painted engravings of this genre and era articulated so finely, with such artistic flare, and having an editorial quality about them are rare to find! Image Dimensions (viewable inside the mat): Each is approximately 4.75"W x 7"T Frame Dimensions (edge to edge): 8.5"W x 11"T Each piece is mounted with museum-quality materials and AR glass. The set has been kept in a light and climate-controlled space.
