Early 19th century French botanical crayon & aquarelle in antique oak frame. Label en verso: Ecole de Mulhouse, Etude de fenouil, Crayon et aquarelle, Debut du 19eme siecle. Foxing. One deep scuff on frame. Attached is a card exploring fennel & anise in Dr. Reid's hand. Estate of Katharine Reid, former director of the Cleveland Museum of Art. Sight: 16 1/2" x 10 1/2". Frame: 23 3/4" x 17 3/4".
