Technical Nautical Drawings Done by Rh Gibson in 1963 for Talbot Historical Scty
About the Item
Antique, original nautical blueprint drawings, a pair.
Original, professional frames.
27"×13" is the larger one. 26×11.5 is the smaller one.
Used to build smaller scale versions of the boats for The Talbot Historical Society (pictured).
RH Gibson was a Naval history expert and wrote at least 14 books on Naval warfare and submarines.
There is an RH Gibson park in Vermont.
From The Talbot Historical Society:
R.H. Gibson is R. Hammond Gibson. From my research, he seemed to be an avid sailor, racer, and model builder. He was apart of local Arts Festivals, built models for other Historical Societies and chairman of the Navigation Committee. It seems as though the only things that we have here at the Talbot Historical Society are the actual models. These photos of the models were donated to us through H. Robins Hollyday's estate (a local commercial photographer in the 1920's-1950's for Talbot County). However, we do not have the blueprints of the build.
