About the Item
Pair of photographs on painted black wood box frames of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco. This pair was originally sold from the artist gallery on Grant Avenue in San Fransisco. Acquired from a Palm Beach Estate. Both signed by the artist and dated 1955
Working out of his Grant St. Studio in the legendary North Beach neighborhood, Gene roamed the streets of San Francisco shooting the city he loved. Gene frequently worked with a 180 degree medium format cameras as well as Hasselblad 2-1/4 and 4x5. This pair of images is a stunning look at the beautiful city of San Francisco from another time.
