Jean Carlu (French 1900-1997) started creating graphic images professionally in France in 1919. He was influenced by the emerging "moderne" movement sweeping Europe, and his designs reflection the era. He is best known for his works for the Chateau Mouton-Rothschild company. Our poster is an original Carlu, created for the French Ministry of War. It is encouraging "young sports people to engage yourself in the French Army." The graphics are amazing, and the poster is in excellent condition. The paper has been professionally mounted to linen for safe handling and transport. The larger bordered edge measures 50 3/4" by 35 1/2", and the poster image size is listed below.
