'Motorpsycho' Original Vintage Movie Poster, American, 1965

About the Item

"Cyclemaniacs assaulting and killing for thrills! Bike riding hoodlums flat-out on their murder cycles." A motorcycle blasts through the newspaper headlines on this explosive US One Sheet poster for Russ Meyer's sleazy 1965 sexploitation flick 'Motorpsycho,' which focused on the violent exploits of a desert motorcycle gang led by a sadistic Vietnam veteran. After a veterinarian's wife is raped by the trio, he joins forces with a Cajun woman whose husband they killed to hunt down the perpetrators and seek revenge. Shot in black and white, the film features all the hallmarks that Meyer's successful sexploitation series became known for - sex, violence and busty women, naturally, but also camp humour and sly satire. The film was such a big hit that Meyer decided to make a similar flick about a female gang of bad girls, leading to his better-known 'Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! which would become a cult classic. The Los Angeles Times said the two movies "pack as much sex and violence as possible on the screen without bringing in the police. In fact, they're so ludicrously erotic and sadistic they can be taken as parodies of the entire genre of exploitation pictures." Conservation backed on linen. Backing has smoothed and diminished one vertical and three horizontal manual folds and minor edge wear. Spots of light colour touching to folds and crossfolds. A few surface scratches. Some surface ink transfer or 'ghosting' to folds in white ground. Image and colours otherwise excellent.

Steve McQueen 'The Blob' Original Vintage Japanese B2 Movie Poster, 1965
Located in Devon, GB
A young Steve McQueen is pitched as the main event on this incredibly rare B2 poster for the first Japanese release of the cult drive-in era classic ‘The Blob’ in 1965, cashing in on the king of cool’s box office draw at the height of his popularity. A relative unknown only seven years prior, McQueen had not been pictured on anything but the theatrical lobby cards at the time of the original US release in 1958 and was credited as ‘Steven McQueen.’ Perfectly epitomising the schlock sci-fi B movie, ‘The Blob’ starred a 28-year old McQueen in his first leading role as a rebel teen who discovers the gelatinous alien invader wreaking havoc throughout his small Pennsylvania community and tries to warn the sceptical townspeople before it is too late. Distributed by Paramount as the B movie to ‘I Married a Monster...
