About the Item
This is an extremely special and very rare Polish film poster. It is a 20th century design classic, created by the founding father of the Polish School of Posters - Professor Henryk Tomaszewski.
Tomaszewski first designed this poster in 1947 for the British film noir ‘Odd Man Out’ (Niepotrzebni Moga Odejsc) directed by Carol Reed and starring James Mason, Robert Newton, Cyril Cusack, and Kathleen Ryan. This poster is from the second edition print run in 1957. With its striking red background and bold brooding illustrative style, Tomaszewski’s poster cleverly hints at the film’s dark plot. A true collector’s piece.
Polish A1 size: 61 x 81.5 cm
Condition: the body of the poster is in excellent condition. Please note there is some discolouration to the bottom left on the white border.
