Original antique advertising poster for the Colonial Exhibition Semarang 1914 Java featuring a stunning image of a lady in a traditional batik clothing with jewellery and a headdress, sitting in front of hills and palm trees within a decorative framed border, the stylised lettering below. This Koloniale Tentoonstelling trade expo was a large scale World Fair event that included arts and crafts pavilions with 20 countries participating, held from 20 August to 22 November 1914 in the then Dutch East Indies city of Semarang. Artwork by Albert Pieter Hahn (1877-1918). Large size. Good condition, restored folds, minor tears and small paper losses, small foxing spots, backed on linen.
