Original antique advertising poster for The Golden Book of Sports or Das Goldene Buch Des Sports by the notable German graphic artist Ludwig Hohlwein (1874-1949) featuring a great image of two polo players on their horses with the text above and below in stylised black letters next to an image of the book that was published in 1910, with information on the publishing company and price, Wilhelm Spemann Stuttgart 6 Mark. Printed in Germany by G.m.b.H. (G. Schuh & Cie), Munchen. Very good condition, faint browning in margins.

After studying at the Art Students League and graduating from Brooklyn College, he moved west at the age of 26, and is credited with introducing an East Coast sensibility to marketing.
