Original vintage advertising poster - Mourmelon Le Grand 2 Juillet 1939 Inauguration du Monument Henry Farman Grande Fete Aerienne Toute l'Aviation Francaise a la Honneur pour le Premier Vol de Ville a Villeau profit de la caisse de secours des vieilles tiges / 2 July 1939 Inauguration of the Henry Farman Monument Great Air Festival all French aviation has the honour of the first flight from city to town in favour of the relief fund. Dynamic image of planes flying in the blue sky above a biplane and the Art Deco style monument dedicated to the world's first flight made by the record breaking English French aviator and aeroplane designer Henri Farman (1874-1958), of 27 kms from the village of Bouy to the town of Reims on 30 October 1908; Farman also flew 232 kms in 4 hours 17 minutes 53 seconds at Mourmelon le Grand on 3 November 1909. Printed by P. Fournie & Cie, Paris. Large size. Good condition, restored folds, restored tears, restored tape marks, backed on linen.
