Original vintage British propaganda poster - Are you with us in National Service? Colourful image showing smiling men and women in uniform looking up to the viewer with their arms linked together, including military officers, soldiers, pilots, sailors, Home Front guards and nurses with the text below in white and yellow stylised letters. The second period of conscription in the UK after World War One (from 1916 to 1920) was during World War Two (from 1939 to 1960), known as National Service / War Service; by 1942 most men aged 18-51 and most women aged 20-30 were called up for duty. Artwork by the graphic designer and poster artist Drake Brookshaw (1907-1993) and Doreen Debenham. Printed for Her Majesty Stationery Office by Vincent Brooks. Day & Son. Ltd., London. Horizontal. Good condition, restored tears through image, large restored paper losses on image, restored folds, staining, backed on linen.
