“Peugeot Cycles” Original Vintage Lithograph Poster
About the Item
The artist Lobel-Riche began his artistic studies at the famous Ecole de Beaux Arts in Montpelier and then continued them in Paris. Success came quickly to him when the drawings he submitted to the newspaper ‘Le Rire’ were immediately accepted for publication in 1895. It was with his sensuous depictions of girls and women that he truly made his mark, his portrayals reflecting his passion for life and art. His work included etchings, engravings and lithographs and innumerable illustrations for journals and illustrated books. He often collaborated with the great writers of the period such as Baudelaire. This poster is not only rare but it’s the only poster which the artist designed.
