Antique print titled 'S. Bartholomaeus pluvian undique decidentem ab area Monasterii precibus arcet'. Scarce plate showing Bartholomew the Apostle in the rain outside a monastery. This print originates from 'Picturae Dominici Zampierii, vulgo Domenichino, quae extant in sacello sacrae aedi Cryptoferratensi adjuncto tabulis aeneis incisae' published 1762. Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Petrus Antonius Pazzi' after 'Domenico Zampieri'. Pietro Antonio Pazzi (1706 - 1766), Engraver. Domenico Zampieri, known as Domenichino for his shortness (October 21, 1581 – April 6, 1641), was an Italian Baroque painter of the Bolognese or Carracci School of painters. Condition: Good, given age. Some staining and spots in the margins. Two tiny worm holes upper right margin, not affecting image. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study image carefully. Date: 1762 Overall size: 34.2 x 47.4 cm. Image size: 29 x 44.3 cm.
