A rare antique Papier-Mâché wall shelve with handpainted japonizing decoration featuring paintings of fishes and water plants. Manufactured in Germany, Black Forest in the 19th century. The foldable shelve is made of pressed paper pulp with a black lacquered background and gilt details. It would be fabulous hung on a wall or displayed in a cabinet with decorative items.
