About the Item
Monument is a collection of shelving units that combines wood and marble. This piece was imagined by Mathieu Girard and Gauthier Pouillart of Atelier Cocorico.
The visual strength and stability of Monument relies on an ingenious construction system that does not require any tool. The result is a brutalist, material centered piece with a strong sculptural presence.
The two imposing “cross” columns that constitute the superstructure are the visual signature of the shelf, but also present and enhance beautiful objects or books.
The Monument system comes in a large variety of dimensions and it is possible to make mono material shelves or combine marble and wood.
Mathieu Girard and Gauthier Pouillart both graduated of the Ecole Bleue in Paris in 2010 and 2011, a multidisciplinary training about the fields of design.
They founded Cocorico Paris at the end of 2011. This design agency appreciates contemporary challenges, and develops unique stories for several companies in
many fields of action, like hospitality, offices, coworking, restaurant or shopping facilities. Due to its global design concepts, Cocorico Paris deals with creation, interior design, graphic design, etc.
Cocorico Paris design can be resumed by simplicity, originality and ingenuity.
Always use a microfiber cloth and rub lightly. Never apply any solvents.

Monument offers a large variety of combinations.
You can easily customize your shelving system. You can choose the height within 117cm or 197cm and the length within 130cm and 195cm.
You can also choose the material of the shelves and of the columns:
• Natural ash
• Black stained ash
• Pele de Tigre
• Marquina
• Indian green
• Travertin
Prices may differ according to the height, length and material chosen.
