Fine Aubusson 1950’s Tapestry designed by Simon Chaye and woven by Atelier Legoueix in Aubusson France - labeled, numbered and titled on back. Artistic and rhythmic composition depicting a flock of seagulls, against a backdrop of sails and seascape in vivid colors. a superb rendition of a seascape scene , of great decorative value . Simon Chaye , alongside Picart Le Doux , was instrumental in the renewal of the art of Aubusson tapestry in the 1950's ; he was originally from Honfleur Normandy and is particularly celebrated for his maritime themed depictions.
