About the Item

The price reflects one 1000m x 1000m, 78-block panel. The Wall to Wall product customization options are endless, and Established & Sons will work closely with their client in order to configure their special piece. Raw Edges are Israeli born, London based designers. The design duo Shay Alkalay and Yael Mer set up Raw Edges, a London-based design studio, after both graduating with a Masters in Product Design from the Royal College of Art. Yael’s main focus includes turning two dimensional sheet materials into curvaceous functional forms, whereas Shay is fascinated by how things move, function and react. In recent projects Endgrain and Herringbones, the duo have experimented with colour, using the grain of the wood to carry the dye through the timber. In 2015 the Stack-Up Series used many different materials, textures and colours to present new unique bespoke editions of the design. Alkalay’s Stack is included in the permanent collection of MoMA in New York. The Wall to Wall, Herringbone Colored flooring and wall installation, Shay Alkalay and Yael Mer have reimagined the parquet floor by colour-staining individual oak blocks, which are then used to create a herringbone pattern that is unique every time and can be tailored to specific spaces. By taking a time-honoured floor type and twisting the core element of it they have developed a highly characteristic mosaic design. Materials: Colour-stained solid natural oak parquet floor available in 4 tonal backgrounds and 12 accent colours. Artisan material and process, variations occur. Minimum project 35m2; Minimum accent colour 1m2, 10-15% approximate wastage. Color Options: - Base Colors; Natural oak, air palette blue mix of three hues, stone palette grey mix of three hues, sand palette beige mix of three hues. - Accent Colors; Bordeaux red, candy pink, dark green, dark grey, dark pink, dark purple, fuchsia pink, grass green, light green, off-white, orange, yellow. - 1. Note: - The flooring must be installed by an experienced professional parquet flooring fitter. - It is suggested to do not cover the floor in the first period with carpets, rugs or other things to avoid changing of tone in different areas of the floor due to exposition of direct natural sun light. - In any case the oxidation (changes in tone colours) it’s a normal phenomenon caused by the exposition of the wood to air and natural sun light. - The floor must not be sanded after installation. This operation would cause the removal of the stained colours. - This product is not suitable for outdoor use. Care & Maintenance: - Vacuum clean or wipe the floor with a damp cloth or if needed mop gently with a very mild detergent diluted in a bucket of water (1 small cap per bucket). - Do not over-wet the floor. - Do not attempt to repair without contacting a professional parquet flooring fitter or restorer.
