5' 8" Silas Seandel Ribbon Wall Sculptures, Signed, 1980

About the Item

A monumental pair of Silas Seandel "Ribbons" of brass and chrome, one signed and dated. Sold together, the sinuous sculptures mount to the wall. His work emerged with importance during the Brutalist movement of the 1970s, alongside craftsmen like Harry Bertoia and Paul Evans and became more refined by 1980, when these were created. Seandel's highly respected work is included in collections across the country including installations at the World Trade Center Memorial and AT&T in New York, and the Lipton Tea Company and Johnson & Johnson in New Jersey.
