About the Item
Wall mounted profile in relief of Perseus in cast marble resin and fiberglass by Anthony Redmile (born 1940) of London circa 1990, after a bronze bas relief sculpture by Edmond Louis Charles Tassel (active 1870-1900).
Anthony Redmile (aka J. Antony Redmile) burst into the London interior design scene in the 1960s, producing some of the most eclectic items for his illustrious clients. Redmile's interior style is described as "maximalist" and is inspired by a variety of sources, including exoticism, neo-classicism, and travel. In the 1970s and 1980s, he created some of the most unusual works in London.
