About the Item

This head-on view of a Kouri beef is made to hang up on a wall. The Kouri beef are known for its very recognizable thick and sturdy horns. Beef from Lake Chad are native to the banks and islands of this lake and are generally called Kouri. Unlike the Zebus, its coat is white. Is horns show great variability but are characterized by a porous and bulbous bony ankle. Measures: 83 cm.

    Very interesting early 20th Century Czech made taxidermy cow "Tur Domácí Bos Taurus" hind leg for classroom study, probably used at a University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The leg is at least a hundred years old, you can see by the way it is fixed together (the curly iron thread) and the surface ware of the real bones, it is smooth and yellowish. The iron and wood holder however is probably aded very recently (my guess is in the 80s 90s).
