About

This very large (over 6' tall) crucifix came from the entrance of a 19th century cloister building. The body of Jesus is constructed in solid plaster with removable arms. Jesus figure retains the original ivory painted surface. The cross is wood with the original grain painted surface. The tips of fingers were removed as a symbol of correct desanctification by the church showing that the piece was properly removed from religious service.
