INFORMATION ON REGINALD WEBSTER
PASADENA, Calif. Reginald Clay Webster (Reggie or Big Reg) died on September 30, 2015, while traveling, at the age of 75. He was born September 28, 1940, in St. Joseph, where he was raised with his sister, Sheila (deceased), by Ernest and Willella Yancey Webster.
Reggie attended Lafayette High School before he enlisted in the Marines in January 1960.
While stationed at Lake Mead Naval Base, Reggie met Barbara Smith while on a weekend leave. They were married on July 17, 1961, which began a marriage that would last 54 years, until his death.
Reggie was stationed in Okinawa, Japan until 1963, when they moved to Los Angeles, Calif., and later to Altadena, Calif., which began a 52-year residence in the Pasadena community.
Shortly thereafter, he went to work for Santa Fe Railroad, where he would work for nearly his entire career. Together, Reggie and Barbara raised three children, Reginald C. Webster II (Los Angeles), Toi Webster Treister (Dana) (Pasadena), and Regina Webster (Phoenix, Ariz.), and today they have five grandchildren, Styrling Webster, and Olivia, Natalie, Alexandra and Jackson Treister; and one great-grandchild, Wyatt Marshall.
Reggie is described by all who knew him as kind, gentle and caring. He was a man of few words, but he had something kind to say about everyone. His easy-going and quiet demeanor were surpassed only by his willingness to work hard and dedication to his family. Always active, he could often be found tinkering or fixing or attending a family members sporting event.
