About the Item

Through a manual oxidation treatment the natural black iron sheets acquire a somber chromatic pattern. The geometric arrangement of the triangular forms generates a graphic experiment that suggests an infinite repetition. This variation is produced in a limited edition of 20 individual pieces in Collaboration with De Castelli; suggested presentation as an individual piece, a diptych composition (2 pieces) or quadriptych composition (4 pieces). The price reflects one unit, a diptych composition will require a purchase of 2 pieces. “Essential materials and repetition is often present in my designs. Skyscraper is a geometric interplay that resembles a braided surface reminiscent of windows and facades on a high-rise building.” Mikal Harrsen About the designer Mikal Harrsen is a Danish architect and industrial designer based in Milan. In addition to his work as a designer and collaborator with leading international design brands, Harrsen is an entrepreneur. In 2012, he established the successful furniture brand MA/U Studio in Copenhagen; in 2017, he moved the company’s operations to Italy as the brand merged with the Boffi & DePadova brands based in Milan. Today, Harrsen focuses his attention on exploring isolated aesthetical aspects of materials and design. As a result, in 2019 he founded Design Editions, a brand that is a specialist manufacturer of design objects for vertical surfaces. The brand collaborates with a range of international designers and a select group of high-end manufactures from northern Italy, Spain, Germany and Denmark. Awards Among Mikal Harrsen’s recognitions are several Red Dot Awards, the iF Design Award, Archiproducts Design Awards, and nominations for the German Design Award and Compasso d´Oro/Eccellenze della Lombardia.
