Jeanne Grut, Danish 1927-2009. A sung glazed wall relief in the shape of a a hippopotamus. Very decorative and extremely rare one of a kind. Jeanne Grut designed this sung glazed stoneware hippo in the 1960's for Royal Copenhagen, Denmark. Mounted on an iron frame with hangers. Dimensions: 49 x 81 x 8 cm. Height with hangers 54 cm This item hung in the courtyard of Royal Copenhagen, Denmark, and was purchased 30 years ago by the previous owner. JG was employed at The Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Manufactory from 1958 and worked there until 1987. Her main achievement was modeling naturalistic animals
