Pair of Edwardian circa 1910 Soft Green Leather Feather Filled Cushion Armchairs

About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning pair of Edwardian circa 1910 soft green leather “his and hers” club armchairs with feather filled cushions A very nice and comfortable pair of 110+ year old armchairs. The green leather upholstery is silky soft and very thick, the back and base cushions are all feather filled and very comfortable, the seat platforms are original Victorian coil sprung affairs and the feet are hand turned walnut, fitted with a 8mm metal axel so they can be removed for ease of transport These are an original matched his and hers pair, what that means, and this is very old fashioned so please forgive the terminology, is that the ladies chair is small and sits a little more upright where as the gentleman’s is lower, longer and has a more relaxed seating angle We have cleaned waxed and polished them from top to bottom, these can be hand dyed a stunning whisky or cigar brown colour for a fee “Hers” Dimensions: Height 80cm Width 83cm Depth 93cm Seat height 52cm “His” Dimensions Height 80cm Width 88cm Depth 96cm Seat height 44cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses Condition: Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
