Swift and Monell Woven Leather Iron Stools
About the Item
Rare cognac leather and iron stools designed by Lila Swift and Donald Monell. The seat is made of woven leather straps and secured with cord and iron ring on the underside. Minimal wrought-iron tripod base is sturdy and strong. Nice age to the leather and attractive patina at the base. These stools are significant examples of the midcentury studio craft movement. Made in Gloucester, MA, USA, circa 1950s.
