About the Item

Among the most iconic jewelry forms of the 1920s, the celluloid and rhinestone sparkle bracelet is an always elegant and highly sought after collectible within the world of exquisite 1920's jewels. The flapper style relfecting the independent new woman on the 20's was identifed with these bracelets, and they came in sizes for younger women, called maiden's bracelets as well as upper arm. versions for true glamorous flappers. This standard size is MADE for stacking and layering, as is most bakelite and celluloid jewelry, and this bracelet has a standard inner diameter of approximately 2.5". It is approximately .50: wide. This example is carved with two channels which encircle the bangle and add depth and dimension to the piece. The bracelet is also dyed with a light aqua resin wash color, which is quite light aqua in color and transparent so that the underlying cream base color of the celluloid shows through. That dye does not sink into the aforementioned carved channels, which also adds contrast and finesse to the look and appearance of the piece. Two rows of aquamarine turquoise rhinestones are embedded into the celluloid, alternating with the carved channels adding dazzling light and color to this elegant creation.
