About the Item
This unusual antique mourning bangle is so sweet and sentimental.
It is an interesting and unusual design, the bangle designed in a typical aesthetic era manner in engraved sterling silver.
It has inlaid 9ct gold sections and finely plaited light brown hairwork running through the centre and visible through the panels which have been highlighted with rich Cobalt blue enamel borders.
It has an internal inscription to two sides, one side reads Kate to Bella and the other March 22nd 1870.
A beautiful and unique mourning piece.
Best for wrists 6.75" or under, oval shaped.
Marks and era:
Victorian era c1870s, unmarked electronically tests as sterling silver.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, some losses to the blue enamel which is missing in areas, does not have a safety chain this is missing but could be easily replaced.
