DE VECCHI MILANO 1935 A story of craftsmanship, design and culture The silversmith workshop, Atelier De Vecchi, was founded by Piero De Vecchi in 1935. A sculpturer and engraver, at a young age he participated in Futurism which shared the constant research of the dynamism that he transmitted in his productions. His works were exhibited in major national and international museums: from the Milan Triennale to the Moma in New York. Piero as sculpturer he loved to recreate stong animal pieces and this synuous and strong eagle was specially ordered by a Milanese aristocrat in 1954. The beautiful design of the feathers and the details of the eyes and claws make the piece a unique statement of strength and attitude. Chief of all the winged creatures, an eagle is symbolic of power and of man’s association with the divine. It is important to understand the eagle symbolism because it helps us find the drive within ourselves to push further and reach higher.
